Murrian and McGuiness named New York-Penn League All-Stars
State College, PA (WCSC) - Lowcountry natives and former CBA standouts John Murrian and Chris McGuiness have each been named all-stars by the New York-Penn League on Wednesday.
Murrian, a Stratford grad and ninth round pick by the Tigers in this year's draft, began the day second in the league in batting average at .346 and tied for third with 31 RBI's to go along with 4 HR's while catching for Oneonta.
McGuiness, a James Island grad and former Citadel star, started the night tied for the third in the league in RBI's, and tied for fourth with 14 doubles. A 13th-round draft pick of the Red Sox this year, and firstbaseman for the Lowell Spinners, was hitting .255 with 5 HR's.
The New York Penn League All-Star game is scheduled for August 18th in State College, PA.
