Stan created Charleston Baseball Acadademy in order to give athletes the opportunity to learn the game of baseball at the highest level. A Lowcountry native, Stan was a two-sport (basketball and baseball) at Hanahan High School. After high school, Stan continued his baseball career at Charleston Southern University.
Stan enjoyed great success as a pitcher for the Buccaneers, leaving the school with the most pitching victories in school history. After his playing days, Stan spent seven years as an assistant athletic director for operations at Charleston Southern. He also began to train pitchers of all levels and opened Charleston Baseball Academy in December of 2001. Some of Stan’s most recent prized pupils include Steven Jackson (Pittsburgh Pirates), Matt Crim (The Citadel), Matt Vaughn (Clemson) and Jeff Ridgeway (Atlanta Braves).
