"Coach" Finlaw is a noted hitting instructor who handles a large part of the hitting instruction through individual lessons and hitting camps. Finlaw also teaches the fundamentals of defense and base-running.
Coach Finlaw was a high school baseball coach for 35 years at 71st High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina, qualifying for the state playoffs numerous times. Ninety percent of his players went on to play college baseball and his teams posted a .320 batting average and 120 stolen bases per season.
Finlaw spent four seasons as a volunteer hitting instructor at Indiana Tech prior to moving to Charleston to begin work as a hitting instructor for the last three years at CBA.
